Zumba
What is Zumba Fitness?
Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music and dance movements that create a dynamic,
exciting and effective fitness program. The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a
combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the entire body. You can burn from 600 to 1000
calories per hour depending on how much effort you put in.
You will achieve a total body toning especially in the gluts, legs, arms, core and abs!!!
You will be learning Latin dance steps like Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Reggaeton as well
as other dances from around the world such as Flamenco, Tango, Calypso, Quebradita and Israeli to name a few.
Zumba is fun, different, easy and effective. Zumba® is not only great for the body,
but is also great for the mind. It is a "feel-happy" workout. Zumba is a Great Sweat!! It’s exercise in Disguise!!!

What should I bring to a Zumba Fitness class?
Clothing Wear comfortable, lightweight and absorbent clothing that will help you move easily.
Wear a sports hat, bandana or “tichel” to help absorb your sweat.
Shoes Best shoes to wear are: court shoes or “aerobic” shoes.
Wear shoes that do not have a lot of tread at the bottom and are meant for medial/lateral/twisting motion.
Running shoes and cross training shoes are not ideal because of the tread and they are meant more for forward motion. Jazz sneakers are fine.
Any old shoe where the bottom is worn out is good. So you can twist and turn easily. You can
add extra cushioning to your shoes by putting in a sports shoe insert that will help you with shock absorbency to prevent stress on your joints.
Others Be sure to bring water and a small towel. You will need to drink plenty of water before, during and after your Zumba Fitness class to stay hydrated. The towel is a must you will sweat!!! And of course you need to bring your “smiley” face and “party” attitude.
At Zumba Fitness Class you are to have fun, enjoy yourself, relax and dance your worries away!!!
Is dance experience necessary?
Absolutely…NOT!!! Zumba® is for everyone and every fitness level is welcomed. Just come and get ready to party!!!
